Since it is also a #TitleTuesday, I decided to do a recap of my reading goals for 2019 and share about how my #2019ReadingChallenge went. In order to do that, I have to share how I decided on my goal for 2018 and 2019.
So hang with me.
In 2018, I set a goal to read one book a week. I was expecting a baby in the middle of the year and I figured one book a week was realistic. What I actually ended up reading was 12,593 pages in 51 books.
I was literally one book short of my goal. UGH!
So, I decided to up my goal for 2019.
I guessed that doubling my reading goal (meaning 104 books) was a bit ambitious, especially since my little military family was PCSing across the country in the middle of the year.
So instead of reading 104 books I decided to go with 74 books for 2019.
Here we are on the last day of 2019.... so how did I do?
Although Goodreads only shows 83 books read, I read 93 books total. That is 19 books over my goal for the year and over double the number of pages that I read last year!

Because I was easily able to meet my goal this last year, I have decided that my reading goal for 2020 is 104 books for the year.
That means reading two books per week!
I am going to think through exactly what books to read and how to read them (on a tablet, audio-book, or paper book) and go from there. I have seven books going at the moment that I won't finish by tomorrow, so those will give me a little cushioning for January to plan out my reading for next year.
Are you on Goodreads? If so, you can find me here.
Will you be setting goals for reading in 2020? I'd love to hear about your goals in the comments!
