This weekend a good friend of mine called me out on why I haven't been posting very much. It was exactly what I needed.
I haven't written lately. I would like to be able to say that I have been off the radar lately and that I have been too busy to write anything.
But that would be a lie.
The truth is I have been writing every evening when I get home from work. I carefully plan out what I want to discuss, then I double check my facts, quotes, and Bible verses and then I quietly save the post on my computer.
Here is the real story:
I wrote a post about romance novels for women lest month (which can be found here) and let me tell you, I got some a lot of feedback. For every one comment on the post there were three emails in my inbox. Some were from Christian women encouraging me and affirming my writing. Others were not so kind. I have to confess I let the negative comments get to me. I suddenly became afraid of posting anything at all. I didn't want to get anymore hateful emails!
I spoke with one of my team members today and she quoted 2 Chronicles 20:17 which says, "You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’” I am going to get back in to my writing and not hide anymore.
I am ready to stand firm.

Good for you! I too struggle with not wanting to say things that may cause people to be angry or upset with me. I have a hard time with conflict! But we need to be able to stand up for what we know is right. Good for you (and good for your friend!)
