Leadership, what does this have to do with being a forgiven feminist? For me it is a complex issue.
I struggle with the idea of letting other people lead me. I struggle with it a great deal more if it is a man. I felt that men were always demanding leadership, taking something that didn't belong to them. In studying the Bible I realize that isn't true at all. The Bible says a great deal about how a leader should behave:
Exodus 18:21
"But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain —and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens."
Matthew 20:26"But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant."
Philippians 2:4"Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
I posted this image on one of my Thoughtful Thursday posts recently. I have it saved on my phone and it caught my eye again this morning. Leadership is the process by which an individual influences a group of people to reach a common goal. Positions of leadership are given by God, for His purposes. We may not understand why, but it is in His perfect plan.
