With all of that being said, let us jump in and get started. Today I am reviewing a copy of Pulling Back the Shades by Dr. Juli Slattery and Dannah Gresh.
I have to say, Pulling Back the Shades is one of the BEST books I've read in recent history. This book is geared towards women that read or are interested in reading the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. But the book doesn't stop at just discussing why 50 Shades of Grey is damaging to your Christian walk. Gresh and Slattery tackle the potentially awkward subject of erotica and emotional pornography with a delicate grace. They don't skirt around the difficult topics that Christian living books typically avoid. It is clear from their writing that these two ladies feel strongly about sexual purity, and they are NOT afraid to show it.
Overall, I adored Pulling Back the Shades. I think that this book should be read and discussed by churches across the country. I think it would be a great tool for one-on-one accountability groups. I give Pulling Back the Shades a solid A+ and I recommend it for anyone interested in or struggling with erotica or pornography.
