Welcome to my
celebration of Women's History Month! You can read more about this month and
why I am writing about admirable Christian women here. For now, let's jump in!
The Forgiven Former Feminist's Female Christian Role Model of the Day is... Carrie Underwood!
Carrie Underwood is an Oklahoma born country music singer. She took the stage (and a country's heart) in 2005, when she won the fourth season of the hit television show American Idol. Since her win in 2005, Underwood has written four best selling albums. She has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. She has even won five Grammys.
So why is Carrie Underwood on my list? Carrie came out of the gate openly stating her love of Jesus Christ. On her first album she had a track title Jesus Take the Wheel and has not backed down since. She has come under fire on and off again in the media for her faith and what she believes in, and yet she remains strong in her faith witnessing to millions through her music.
